2-Day PLEIN AIR Oil Painting Workshop

with JEFF HORN at the Newport Back Bay

SAT-SUN, MARCH 15-16, 2025

Painting at the Back Bay: The workshop starts with a morning presentation at the Muth Center (Back Bay), followed by painting "en plein air" that afternoon and throughout the second day. Students learn from daily demos and receive individualized instruction as they work in the field.

Artist and Professor Emeritus Jeff Horn taught drawing and plein air painting at Irvine Valley College and has been an exhibitor at The Laguna Festival of Art for the past 24 years. He is a Signature Artist Member of LPAPA, CAC, PAPA (Plein Air Painters of America) and a proud lifetime member of SOCALPAPA.

Painting Out of Doors: Jeff guides students through the principles and processes of plein air painting with an emphasis on design, composition, and color as they apply to painting outside.

You'll paint and learn with Jeff at the beautiful Newport Back Bay.

Includes an in-depth presentation of principles and processes of painting outdoors, emphasizing design, composition and color. Jeff discusses problems and mistakes specific to plein air painting. Students receive individualized instruction tailored to advance their level of painting knowledge, and they have the opportunity to benefit from Jeff’s forty years of painting outdoors and teaching experience.
